The Color Fuchsia

One of the most brilliant pinks is fuchsia. The true color found in nature is actually directly from the fuchsia plant. The range of colors for fuchsia typically differ in the brightness of the pink that is used but shades can range from a pale fuchsia up to a bright fuchsia. One of the most frequently seen shades of fuchsia is the color commonly associated with many little girls toys such as the packaging and colors used throughout Barbie doll products.

Is it Fuchsia or Magenta?

Fuchsia is often compared to magenta and at times used interchangeably with magenta. However, true fuchsia colors are in fact brighter than magenta. The magenta represented on computer screens is known as electric magenta but the color will actually translate to fuchsia in the printed form. Interestingly, fuchsine is a dye extracted from a fuchsia plant and is used to create magenta.

Color Uses of Fuchsia

The color fuchsia is a very popular pink shade for fashion including clothing as well as accessories. It is typically considered a more youthful, feminine color. Fuchsia is also often paired with black for a classy look or even orange for a fun and festive look.
